Yu Muroga was doing his job making deliveries when the 11-March-2011 earthquake hit in Japan. Unaware, like many people in the area, of how far inland the tsunami would travel, he continued to drive and do his job.
The HD camera mounted on his dashboard captured not only the earthquake, but also the moment he and several other drivers were suddenly engulfed in the flood.
He escaped from the vehicle seconds before it was crushed by other debris and sunk underwater.

Nach dem Tsunami und dadurch ausgelösten Unfall im Kernkraftwerk Fukushima Daiichi fiel mir in Gesprächen mit Freunden und Bekannten zusehends auf, dass diese völlig falsche Informationen über den Unfall hatten und diese ernsthaft und unkritisch glaubten.
Ein extremes Beispiel war eine Frau, die, von einer Demonstration zurückgekehrt, stolz berichtete, dass sie sich in das Kondolenzbuch für die 20.000 Toten des Kernkraftwerks-Unfalls eingetragen hätte.

The situation at the Fukushima Daiichi powerplant has worsened significantly as it becomes clear that one and possibly two reactors there have suffered a breach in primary containment, making the incident definitely the second worst nuclear accident yet seen.
Nonetheless its human consequences seem certain to remain insignificant against the horrifying backdrop of the earthquake tragedy elsewhere in Japan: and there remain no grounds for anyone to fear for their health.
As 2010 – the year of the Tiger in the Chinese lunar calendar – draws to a close, it is timely to consider the status of this most regal of the big cats.
